I just returned from Seattle and I must say with all honesty that I greatly appreciated Alan Prendergast’s story the Denver Westword News website on October 21, 2009 about Governor Ritter’s plan to save big, big money by a plan to release certain inmates in Colorado State’s prisons early. The very idea was met with horror by many who feared a hoarde of the worst of the worst hitting the streets much earlier than they would have otherwise.
But not true, as it turns out. Prendergast notes that very few inmates ever receive early parole ever anymore. He says that the great majority serve out their sentences right up to the very end. Further, they must complete a period of parole following release. In fact, the most violent criminals must serve a minimum of 75% of their sentence. I recently went to the awesome big island of Hawaii (man alive there is some first rate real estate on that island) and I am back now in full writing mode. I was walking around in my office recently and was selecting some interesting office paintings and then started doing some work on the computer. It was then that I remembered an email which I sent to a friend of mine a while back. we were discussing that, in numerological terms, she is an 8. Actually she was born on the 17th of the month which breaks down to an 8 when you add 1 plus seven, according to Linda Goodman’s method of numerological analysis. Numerology basically paints a picture of your life on a broad canvas which you then fill in yourself over time with your actions and your own free will, of course. I just got back from Kansas City (what a trip I had there, it is a tax write off luckily) but wanted to post some California related law headlines. Apparently, San Francisco District Attorney plus prosecutors will not in fact be filing any charges after all in the brutal slaying of former Lousiana resident Michael Bailey, against the twenty-one year old San Francisco female suspect that has not been identified, since no charges have been filed.
Police suspected the woman of luring Bailey to a public housing project where he was then fatally shot by the thieves. All in all, I enjoyed a relatively good summer and did not particularly get a lot by way of a vacation or holiday. I mean, I really thought it would be ok and yet when it comes down to it, it is not. Therefore, I continue to fantasize regarding an overseas vacation destination, because nothing else seems to be working at this time. For the most part, if I could pick virtually any specific location and then go,
I believe I would go for a costa rica surf vacation. Generally speaking, I was never a huge surf fan until fairly recently, yet I know it is just such a great sport. Perhaps the folks over there in Costa Rica will love me and all will be good at the end of the day, and a few Margarita’s could not hurt either. Or perhaps I will simply catch some rays and relax under the beautiful blue sky and do some sport fishing or something like that
For it’s part, the somewhat diminutive country of Costa Rica stretches along on the Pacific Coast and is basically boxed in by Nicaragua and Panama, more or less. For some strange reason, I feel especially drawn to this wild and wonderful land, perhaps particularly because I cannot just go there just right this minute like I can certain other exotic locations which are more nearby, such as Mexico, for example. I suppose that I will be doing some major planning for next year, it’s either Costa Rica or perhaps even Belize. But I am leaning more towards a costa rica surf vacation or trip.
The good news about that is they are both wonderful places to visit all year around.
If you want to try surfing there, there are some really top drawer surf camps, surf school and even a yoga retreat for the starting out surfer and for the mid-level
to expert surfer so you can have a whole different kind of “Board Meeting”.

In some very, very bizarre criminal defense news indeed coming out of the Atlanta area, after a man shot his 6-year-old grandson while arguing about a watermelon, state welfare officials question the placement of this child. The boy identified, as Michael Levigne and his brother were both placed in their grandparent’s home when their parents turned over custody to the grandparents in 2005. For his sake he had better have a good attorney. All in all, this reminds me of a similiarly weird criminal defense related case which came out of the city of San Diego a few years back, but I cannot remeber all of the exact specifics and such, unfortunately or I would gladly share them with you guys.
The state Child Advocate Office is now investigating the placement of the two boys by the DFCS office, who cannot find the records of their home inspection and approval for the children from 2004. Martin Scorsese is the Director of his latest film called Shutter Island. Shutter Island movie is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane. Scene: The hospital sat on the central plane, the north western side of the Island near Boston, Massachusetts. It looked nothing like a hospital for the criminally insane, or a military barracks before that, it looked like a boarding school. Plot: On September of 1954,U.S. Marshal’s Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his assistant Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) were sent to Shutter Island to investigate a missing women, Rachel Solando (Emily Mortimer), who escaped between 10 and midnight. Rachel Solando was a war widow who drowned her three children behind her house. Then she dragged them into her house, lay them on the table to have dinner before a neighbor dropped by and called the police. The cell in which see escaped from was so small that barely three people could fit inside without bumping shoulders. While a hurricane is disables the prison and persons to communicate to the outside. More Prisoners escape while the hurricane happens and Teddy begins to freak out so to speak. He becomes paranoid about his life, and his colleague.

The state Dept. of Labor & Industrial Relations stated yesterday that the jobless numbers have gone down on all of the Hawaiian islands as of last month. Obviously, this is a great news for the beleagured economy in the midst of the recession. On the whole, the numbers were 6.1 percent on the primary island of Oahu, about 9.8 percent on the beautiful garden island of Kauai and about 8.9 percent on Maui.
The worst hit of all the island is still the big island, with a 10.4 percent jobless rate. All in all, several different parts of the economy: the trade, transportation and utilities sectors, added on some five hundred or so positions, all the while the business services added about another four hundred positions. Not bad at all considering the global recession that
we are currently in. On a negative note, however, the tourism sector lost about three hundred salaried positions over the same period of time. Meanwhile in Kauai real estate news, switching gears a little bit here, The average cost for a Condo on the lovely island of Kauai went up a bit the previous month while the total number of sales has remained right around the same. All the while, one-family unit sales plus prices dropped.
This has been a strange time for real estate on the island: while the overall amount of condo sales stayed about the same, the average cost has risen to a little more than a half million dollars, which is up by about twenty percent or so from $435,000 the previous year, according to
data compiled by the fine folks over at the Hawaii Information Service which is relied upon by so many real estate professionals there.

I just got back from Washington after seeing some lawyers but I thought I would get a plug in for a tip top hotel over in Hawaii. It is the Hyatt Regency over on the island of Kauai, also known as the garden isle and the rainbow isle. It is decked out with a plethera of various waterfalls of all different sizes, cool lava rock streams and even a first rate, though small waterslide. I hope they do not declare bankruptcy. Furthermore, there are basketball hoops you can use from the water that the children will probably like. On the whole the entire place appears nearly as much of an eden for them as for their parents. All in all, along the beachfront area there are some idealic ’swing chars’ plus
broad hammocks which are actually very cozy, a winning spot of you just want to lay back with some reading material or a laptop (or maybe just an umbrella drink). You will feel like you are in one of those iconic Coronna Bear commercials. On the whole, the Hyatt Regency is very well suited for both romantic honeymooners and family reunions. I have notcied some people like to get married right there on the property, which seems to me a like a great idea.
As far as the number 2 hotel on the island, I would be inclined to choose the Kauai Marriot located in Nawiliwil Harbor.

I just got back to Washington, it is so time to get writing. When Germany launched an attack on Communist Russia on June 22, 1942, the superb Panzer Divisions almost were successful in conquering the country, yet the tenacious Russians had a secret weapon, the T-34 tank. This particular armored vehicle was so special largely due to the fact that it was the first to use sloping armor technology. Their enemy soon copied this technology on their new ‘Panther’ tank. The ‘Panther’ tank is considered by some military experts as the finest all around tank of world War 2 yet it did have one major drawback. It was so sophisticated that it could not be produced in the huge numbers needed and could be diificult to maintain in the rouph field conditions of the Eastern front where terrible roads, thicj mud and appalling weather took it’s toll. Having said that, though, it did have about a seven to one tank verses tank kill ratio in it’s favor though. The Soviet T-34 and the American Sherman on the other hand, while less effective, were designed in such a way that they could roll off the assembly line by the tens of thousands. The Germans also built the famous super-heavy tank known as the ‘Tiger’ and had first rate armored cars and supporting armored vehicles.
This weighed about 70 tons and had a long barreled, high velocity 88mm main gun, which was originally designed to shoot down high altitude bombers. Although a terrifying weapon, it too could not be produced
in the numbers needed for victory. The finest overall Allied built tank of the war may have been the British built Comet. it had a potent long barreled 77mm gun which was a good tank destroyer plus a plethera of other cutting edge features. It arrived
relatively late in the war, however and the Sherman tank did most of the fighting. All in all, there were many tank battles, and many lessons were learned. By far the biggest of these particular battles was the battle of Kursk on the Russian front. Thousands of tanks were used on both sides. The Germans employed a gigantic self-propeled, armored assault gun called the Ferdinand.
