New York Lake Property – What Dreams are Made Of

June 10th, 2010

Have you thought of New York lake property for a weekend home or seasonal getaway? When you want to go where the ruggedness of nature abounds and peace and quiet surround, this is the ideal destination. Those who live in the big city need a place to gather their nerves and let the anxieties and worries of life take a back seat for a while, and there is no better place to relax and experience solitude than this, it reminds me of Big Bear real estate overall.

Imagine your own cabin, cottage or farmhouse setting at the edge of serene lake waters, surrounded by mountains and forests. If it sounds a bit surreal, it is absolutely a reality! Now, you can have a home built that is brand new, but constructed to look like those of a century ago. Old-fashioned charm and early American architecture make these homes so welcoming, you’ll never want to go back to
the city, much like Big Bear real estate! Of course, you don’t have to give up modern luxuries, as these “old” new homes have all of the amenities – and really cool kitchens!

By choosing this for your home away from home, life as you know it will take a drastic turn for the better. Relaxing days filled with fishing, skiing, hiking or just enjoying your surroundings will be followed by quiet, peaceful nights where all your hear are the sounds of nature. In colder months, imagine your family gathering around the fireplace or wood stove in your cottage or cabin to enjoy
popcorn, television and hot cocoa. Sounds a world away from life as we know it
today, doesn’t it?

Being so close to New York city (just 100 miles or so away), it’s hard to imagine Big Bear real estate offering all that you will never find in the hustle and bustle of city life – but it offers something every person needs; peace and tranquility. Buy or build your own farmhouse, complete with claw foot tub, wide
plank floors and a porch that wraps around the house. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect potion to settle frazzled nerves? Sometimes, you just need to escape to a place where life moves at a slower pace.

Whether you are looking for a weekend home, or a beautiful place to relax and enjoy life throughout the year, there is no place on earth that offers the exquisite surroundings, rugged nature, and atmosphere of the early 1900′s that compares with Big Bear real estate. Experience it for yourself! You will see why this is the ONLY choice there is when it comes to building your dream cabin, cottage or
farmhouse.

The latest on the Lemon Law

January 31st, 2010

I just returned from Dallas (it was good to see my lawyer over there)and i thought it was time to get to posting concerning Lemon law. Over there they have alot of problems with that as well as DUI and DWI, so the roads can be rather unsafe at times. • The Uniform Commercial Code
Moore says the UCC applies to all 50 states (and D.C., Puerto Rico, etc.) and covers contracts dealing with the sale of products. The UCC gives the consumer the right to a refund or replacement of a lemon. The UCC, however, does not define a Lemon, so it’s urp to a court to decide if an auto company must give you a refund or a new car. The Magnuson-Moss act and many state lemon laws also provide for attorney fees under the UCC. BTW should you need a first rate Dallas DWI lawyer
then I may certainly recommend the law offices listed herein. Among the best lawyer in all of Dallas in this regard when it comes to criminal defense matters as well as the DWI and DUI stuff in general, I think.
• State-Specific Lemon Laws
According to most state Lemon Laws, a manufacturer must provide a refund or replacement for a defective new vehicle when a substantial defect cannot be fixed in four attempts, a safety defect within two attempts or if the vehicle is out of service for 30 days within the first 12,000 to 18,000 miles or 12 to 24 months.
Stephanie Moore writes that success in using state lemon laws relies upon three elements. First, keep good records (document everything), provide the proper notice, and use arbitration programs where it is required.
She concludes that, as with all cases involving two or more parties, it is critical to document the transaction. In dealing with auto manufacturers and dealers, it’s even more critical. The car business is powerful. You’re dealing with professionals who are good at doing whatever it takes to win. Don’t let that discourage you, though, the law is on your side. Besides, with all of the DWI and DUI drivers out there we do not need anything else going wrong on the highways.

Denver criminal Robberies Adding up To A Trend Up

December 23rd, 2009

It is good to be back in San Francisco from Oakland…In criminal defense related defense headlines from the mile high city, Kieran Nicholson, reporting for the respected Denver Post newspaper ran a recent story with the headline; Two more Denver bank robberies add to alarming trend. Nicholson says that in 2008, 135 banks were robbed in Colorado, according to an FBI spokesman. At this point this year, 180 banks have been robbed across Colorado. The spokesman added that drug and gang activity, and the sour economy, has contributed to the rise this year. The criminal “Hopping Hooded Bandits” have local law enforcement officers worried by their aggressiveness.
The bandits consist of at least four young men. Speaking of criminal defense, if you are in San Francisco or nearby areas like Redwood City, San Jose or Oakland and need a reputable San Francisco criminal defense attorney who can also handle firearms crimies, Vehicular Manslaughter and Murder, assault with a deadly weapon, Enhancement for Great Bodily Injury, is also a DUI lawyer, Felony Assault, domestic violence and other criminal defense attorney issues both federal and in San Francisco, I can endorse this leading firm there…
The FBI spokesman was quoted as saying, also; “What concerns us at the FBI is they are very brazen, they all have weapons and they are very aggressive in their (criminal) style. It’s what we call a ‘takeover-style’ robbery. They come in with guns in hand and order people to the ground and jump the counters.” Authorities fear that the bandits may escalate their violence and someone could be shot. The say the robbers might become more dangerous.
Reported Nicholson writes, “Experts stress that bank robbery victims should try to remain calm and comply with orders, and not attempt to take on or stop the robbers. Victims are urged to try and make mental notes of the robbery and criminals.”. Well, they are helping to keep all of the lawyers busy for sure. Someone will need a criminal defense attorney.

Use Candles and Paper Boats To Float Troubles Away

December 15th, 2009

I just returned from Kauai and stayed at some nice vacation rentals. They are filming a movie over there. Use candles and paper boats to show your children how to use the power of ritual and symbolism to float their troubles away. At the same time, teach them one of the traditions of the Thai culture.

Celebrate Loi Krathong (loy-kruh-thong) Festival in Thailand with your kids. This holiday is celebrated in Thailand in November each year. “Loy” means “to float” and a “Krathong” is a lotus-shaped banana leaf-boat. The Krathong usually contains a candle, flowers, coins, and three *joss-sticks. See definition for joss sticks below.A full moon in the sky begins the festival. The evening of the full moon, people reverently carry their Krathongs to the nearby rivers.
The candles are lit, and after making a wish, the precious little vessels known as Krathongs are set down on the water. They are allowed to drift away. Regarding them, I particulally like them as well as the jar ones. All in all, I have noticed that many folks prefer the other kinds as well as other types such as the big varieties. Permit me to switch gears for a second and give a plug to kauai vacation rentals which is a company that has been specializing in commercial, residential real estate plus the aforementioned vacation rentals on the lovely garden island of Kauai. Alright now back to the main story here. In this way, people are offering thanks to the Goddess of water. Significantly, it is believed that the Krathongs carry away bad luck. Also, the wishful intentions people make for the New Year begin. Joy replaces suffering and worry as the vessel floats troubles and bad incidents and memories away. I still prefer the other myself overall, and they are very popular when I was on my vacation on kauai too.

The Los Angeles Trial of The 1940’s

December 9th, 2009

Just got back from meeting with a probate attorney and thought it was time to get back to writing: In the Opinion column for the Los Angeles Times, Carlos Valdez Lozano, wrote a beautiful tribute to a real-life justice-fighter. On November 6, 2009, Lozano began, To Alice McGrath, who changed the world.
He says that McGrath’s life was lived for social justice—beginning with her part in coordinating efforts to overturn the wrongful convictions of 12 Mexican American men for murder. Convicted of murdering a man found at the Sleepy Lagoon Reservoir, the men were put on trial en masse in Los Angeles in the 1940’s. The atmosphere was charged with blatant racism and hostility toward the defendants. I am not sure where the Attorney General stood in this case. For her part, McGrath contended that her part was about due process. She was quoted as saying, ‘I may not have changed the world, but I’ve lived a life I feel good about.”
McGrath was born on April 5, 1917. She was the daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants. Her family had fled because of discrimination. If you need a top Los Angeles probate attorney I do suggest this resource. All in all, this is atop probate attorney firm.
When she died on Nov. 27, she had the satisfaction, she told Lozano, of having seen Barack Obama elected president. Lozano summarizes some of her accomplishments as follows:
She helped organize a birthday celebration in Los Angeles in 1951 for the distinguished African American author W.E.B. Du Bois, who later became a dear friend; she taught martial arts to women (because she believed it would empower them) and wrote a book about it called “Self-Defense for Cowards”; though not an attorney herself, she developed a legal aid program for the poor in Ventura County; and she led 85 humanitarian aid trips to war-scarred Nicaragua.

The nature of Dogs and Cats

November 5th, 2009

I followed her to the very back of the building where a few empty cages lined the wall. She told me they were for animals that had something called parvovirus, and needed to be quarantined. Another room housed a couple of cats and several dogs. I did know a little about bountiful dog grooming and the like of course. They were in cages that looked like condos, big and spacious, with toys, and those carpeted climb-things for the cats. They looked quite comfortable, even if some (the dogs, mostly) were being a bit noisy. She said that they were not patients, that they were being boarded. She said that boarders were walked at least twice a day, came out to eat and of course to also be played with. There was a little nervous mutt that she admitted they let out to wander around for short periods because she was such favorite with the staff. She mentioned something along the tour she gave me that I found interesting. She said that animals try to hide it when they’re hurt if they can. In their evolution in the wild, that was a necessary coping device for survival, since it was dangerous to let other animals to know if when were vulnerable. She asked me if I’d ever noticed how dogs will circle a couple of times before they lie down. She said they do that because in their tens of thousands of years of evolution they liked to hide in tall grasses, and turning around a few times flattened the grass to give them a spot to lie down on. As an aside if you are searching for a wonderful bountiful dog grooming company them may I suggest this outfot as they are a leading bountiful dog grooming organization in so many different ways.
There was one last room we visited, upstairs. It was a cozy room with rocking chairs in a sunny corner, and lots of plants. She said she kept this room as a place where pet-lovers could be with their pets before their animals were put to sleep. I looked around the room and realized that this was a place for animal lovers. It was plain and simple animal love.

In Denver the Governor Takes on Big Corrections System and Scares the Ever-Afraid

October 27th, 2009

I just returned from Seattle and I must say with all honesty that I greatly appreciated Alan Prendergast’s story the Denver Westword News website on October 21, 2009 about Governor Ritter’s plan to save big, big money by a plan to release certain inmates in Colorado State’s prisons early. The very idea was met with horror by many who feared a hoarde of the worst of the worst hitting the streets much earlier than they would have otherwise.

But not true, as it turns out. Prendergast notes that very few inmates ever receive early parole ever anymore. He says that the great majority serve out their sentences right up to the very end. Further, they must complete a period of parole following release. In fact, the most violent criminals must serve a minimum of 75% of their sentence. As an aside if you need a Seattle DUI attorney then may I suggest this fine firm, who have been handling dui cases in Seattle for some time now. By the way one of the vesy best denver convention center hotels in my opinion. Simply a quality Denver Hotel overall. The plan would facilitate the release of prisoners scheduled to get out within six months anyway. Sex offenders would not be included and the Colorado Board of Parole would screen these jailbirds and the Board can and quite often does deny the early release. This is despite the fact that many mainstream media reports are quite often to the contrary on this point.

My Office Paintings and the Magical Number 8

October 22nd, 2009

I recently went to the awesome big island of Hawaii (man alive there is some first rate real estate on that island) and I am back now in full writing mode. I was walking around in my office recently and was selecting some interesting office paintings and then started doing some work on the computer. It was then that I remembered an email which I sent to a friend of mine a while back. we were discussing that, in numerological terms, she is an 8. Actually she was born on the 17th of the month which breaks down to an 8 when you add 1 plus seven, according to Linda Goodman’s method of numerological analysis. Numerology basically paints a picture of your life on a broad canvas which you then fill in yourself over time with your actions and your own free will, of course. Here is a part of the correspondence: ” The number Eight resonates to the planet Saturn. According to the Hebrew-Chaldean literature, it ultimately symbolizes both wisdom as well as learning from experience,
in addition to other noble traits such as stability and responsibility. For it’s part, the 8 is conversely the number of caution and even self deprivation. All in all, eight individuals in general might have rather shaky health early on life yet often get more robust as they get older. furthermore, these particular individuals are often quite willing to wait for their plans to come to fruition and use their lag time very well.
Broadly speaking It is not common at all to find an 8 person wasting their time in any way shape or form.
Could this at all explain your rather odd taste in office paintings which reminds of the big island real estate agency office I visited which had some superb pieces. I suppose this is to be expected since there is a lot to be made in such real estate transactions in Hawaii overall and Mauai and the big island specifically. Some other notable traits of 8 individuals is that they truly despise to be seen as weak, this is a cardinal sin in their pantheon of beleiefs as it were. When paintings a picture of these folks, it should be duly noted that the vast majority of eight folks have severely INTENSE natures.
They quite often play a dramatic role in the fate for other individuals in general.” There was more but you get the idea.
