Grocery Store Clerk Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

A Safeway clerk from Dublin, California was critically injured last week on his way home from work when he was struck by a motorist. The man was on his way home from a shift at the grocery store where he works last Sunday night when a woman who was driving a black Honda struck him with her vehicle. The man, who is not only deaf, but has cerebral palsy, was thrown to the ground and sustained serious head injuries. Because of his disabilities and the recklessness of the motorist, the man was unable to get out of the way of the approaching vehicle in time. Rather than get out of her vehicle to help the injured man, the woman who hit him fled from the scene of the crime. Police fortunately found him a short time later, still lying on the ground where the reckless motorist left him injured and alone. They rushed the man to the Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley. He is still there, and his condition remains critical.
The driver of the Honda went to the police station the following evening after the accident to report a hit and run accident. She was not, however, referring to the accident in which she hit the Safeway clerk. She reported her car being hit from behind by a large SUV who then fled the scene of the accident. After inspecting her vehicle, police concluded that her vehicle had not been hit from behind, but had incurred damage on the front end that was similar to what would have been caused by hitting a pedestrian. The woman initially denied having any part in the hit and run accident of the Safeway clerk, but admitted later on that she did so and fled the scene of the pedestrian accident.
It is against the law in California to flee the scene of any type of vehicular or pedestrian accident. The law requires that, at the very least, those involved in the accident exchange contact information. Because of this law, the woman who hit the Safeway clerk and fled the accident could be convicted of a felony hit and run. If a pedestrian is injured by a vehicle, it is the moral responsibility of the motorist that hit him or her to get medical attention for their injuries. This woman did not volunteer any help to the man she hit, and even hesitated to admit her part in the accident when questioned by police.
There are precautions that one can take in order to avoid a pedestrian accident, but these precautions may still not guarantee your safety. If you or one of your family members was recently injured in a California pedestrian accident, don’t hesitate to contact a personal injury attorney to help you file a claim. Many injury victims do not have the financial resources to pay for all the medical bills that are typically a result of pedestrian accidents. Los Angeles Personal injury lawyers help victims like these get the monetary compensation they need to cover costly medical procedures that are needed for a successful recovery.

Chris Brown Finally Sentenced

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Just got back from San Diego (almost got into a car accident, scary stuff) but this story caught my attention: Singer Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom where he pleaded guilty to attacking the sinder called Rihanna, his gal pal during this period of time. All in all, he entered the guilty plea as a plea bargain with the district Attorney in question there. The specific said agreement is that he will serve some 5 years on probation, and he is likewise mandated to go to various classes regarding domestic violence. In addition, the judge Patricia Schnegg ordered as a part of the plea agreement in question that he perform about six months or so of community service.
On the whole, he will serve his probation plus the terms of the plea agreement in his house. He was likewise commanded in no uncertain terms to keep his distance from the singer…as an aside if you require a top notch San Diego car accident attorney I then may I suggest Ramiro Luis. Rihanna was also in the courthouse there, and had prepared to testify in the case and had been advised about one hour prior to the terms of the plea agreement according to her attorney Donald Etra. Sandi Gibbons spokes person for the Los Angeles District Attorneys Office stated the plea agreement with the prosecutor’s office was not unusual for first time offenders.

Evidence Gathered At Jackson Rental House

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

The Los Angeles Coroners Office and two police detectives spent hours at Michael Jackson’s rented mansion and left with two large bags of what they are referring to as evidence. I am sure there is a top attorney involved here. I just got back from San Diego and I almost got into a car accident but I am ok now; the Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter stated that they had gathered some items, which he identified as medications and that they and the Los Angeles Police Department have some questions that involve some of the medications that were ceased. While the Los Angeles Police Department has stated the case remains a standard death investigation they believe the investigation will continue another four to five weeks. The coroner’s offices also stated that extensive testing is being done according to Winters. By the way if you require a good San Diego Car Accident Attorney then may I suggest this resource. You should be able to find an excellent San Diego car accident attorney at this site. The police investigators have interviewed physician Conrad Murray, who they stated was helpful and Murray has stated he will remain in Los Angeles as long as he might be needed by the police.

Southern California criminal news

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I recently returned from the San Jose area (boy it sure was nice over there I must say) and wished to share an interesting article concerning criminal and news from the golden state:A southern California individual named George Kalta, a forty year old, has pleaded guilty to a criminal conspiracy charge in a federal level courthouse. All in all, the charge in question appears to have it’s genesis in an incident that occured several years ago where he had admitted to paying $50,000 to a famous private investigator named Tony Pellicano to apparently wiretap a female. According to the reports, the female whom he is charged with wiretapping happens to be one who had filed criminal assault charges against him in the past. For his sake he had better have a top notch attorney. Kalta has been sentenced to three years of probation and fined $5,000 for hiring the private investigator to do the wiretap. As an aside, if you require a superb San Jose Criminal Attorney then might I recommend this particular website. here you can certainly find a superb San Jose criminal attorney. Now back to the story at hand: High profile P.I. Tony Pellicano was sentenced in a separate case for heading a criminal enterprise, specifically to wiretap the telephone lines of his various celebrity clients in order to get any good data 9for blackmailing purposes?), and he was further charged with bribing law enforcement authorities as well. All told, Pellicano received a 15-year sentence. He is also facing trial in state court on charges of threatening a L.A. Times media reporter.

Warning issued about credit counseling Firms by Attorney General

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

The Attorney General has issued a warning for consumers regarding various insidious debt relief management or debt help related scams, while likewise encouraging them to take full advantage of the free or non-profit credit counseling services in general. He also said that when an individual is in very heavy debt, they are often quite desperate for some kind of help and this is precisely the time when choosing a good and reputable credit management firm can be difficult, since the individual can be somewhat blinded by emotion.
The Attorney general also said that there is really no one right solution for most various debt problems, and that needing help means finding a legitimate credit counseling company that will help to strategize the right budget planning which is also cost effective. It sounds simple but is often not so easy to execute and carry out.
There are some ways to know which companies are scams according to the Attorney General, these are companies that offer credit repair for bad credit, and firms which ask for it’s payment prior to services being offered. The firms in question which fail to fully explain your rights in this arena or who basically warn against contacting the credit bureaus should probably be avoided if at all possible. It is further recommended that before picking a particular credit counseling firm, a few should be fully researched and since it might be a completely free credit counseling firm may not truly affordable. This ialso goes for the non profit credit counseling firms as well. Naturally, this is a part of the due diligence process overall. having said all of that, however, it should be duly noted that Credit counseling firms that are government approved can be found online at the U.S. Department of Justice’s U.S. Trustee Program.

Bicyclists Injured After Being Hit By A Taxicab

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I just retuned from the city of Angels Los Angeles and thought would share some news about personal injury. According to police a taxicab headed southbound on Broad Street at approximately 10:00 p.m. swerved to miss a vehicle that was changing lanes and jumped the curb. The cab struck a lamppost in front of the Kimmel Center and then the bicyclists, causing grevious personal injury, unfortunately.]. The taxi cab in question then struck a man crossing the street as it returned to the street from the curb, also causing personal injury at that point in time. The bicyclists identified only as a female was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital and is reported to be in critical condition and suffered a head injury and possible spinal cord issues, although the latter issue is not confirmed as of yet. Someone may need a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer or accident attorney for this mess. Or perhaps an auto accident lawyer due to the nature of the personal injury involved. when the cab struck her, I had heard that she was part of a certain boarding schools but later reports have reputed that so I should go on the record to say she is not part of the said troubled teens boarding school in question here. For their part, the unidentified pedestrian laid where they were hit, until ambulances could arrive at the scene of the accident through the backed up traffic. There is no report on the condition of the person struck by the taxi cab but serious personal injury is certain, possibly of the traumatic brain injury variety, sadly enouph. The passenger in the auto and the car driver reportedly stayed in the taxicab and spoke to police through the windows of the said automobile. They were both transported to the Hanemann University Medical Center needing treatment for bumps, bruises and other personal injury, and luckily there was no one on a bike or motorcycle lest the accident be fatal in this case..

Data Shows that credit Counseling and Foreclosures On Uptick

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

The latest data and reports show that 1 in every 3 homes in the nation is either already bank owned or are at least heading for foreclosure. While some house buyers are urged by credit counseling firms to make the decision wisely, the houses which are heading for foreclosure are also those who, with good debt help and Debt Relief might be able to save their house, with any luck at all.
Having said that, though, it should be noted that the lending firm as well as the rental management firm is not really all that very different regarding how it looks at the financial statements and the balance sheet of an individual who is applying for a house loan or that is filling out a rental application. Which is why some individuals being foreclosed on by the lender will be forced into renting and have their credit history basically scrutinized at by the rental management company. Foreclosure of a property without the intervention of a credit counseling company can mean bad credit and that can limit the types of rental properties that will be available. All in all, non-profit or even free credit counseling firms are usually quite capable of working with the individual loan holder and with the loan firm so as to make an agreement to make up for past due payments in such a manner which will hopefully not strain the budget of the homeowner in question, therefore allowing them to remain in the said house.

New Federal Credit Agency forming

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

From home loans to Wall Street’s overcomplicated wheeling and dealing, the federal administration has proposed to implemenet major new guidelines to overhaul the nation’s beleagured financial system under brand new legislation proposed yesterday to augment existing legislation, so says the Reuters online news network and other respected mainstream sources such as the Associated Press.
All in all, these specific steps could begin to modify the overall reduction of federal regulations which have been a trademark the past several decades or so. Despite all of this, however, the plan in question would do precious little to simplify and organize the mixed bag of various agencies which now oversee the financial arena. However, it calls for fundamental shifts in authority which would essentially wipe the slate clean and a whole new agency from the ground up, thereby reducing the authority of the ultra-powerful Federal Reserve. This new leaner and meaner agency would ultimately take over the job of overseeing home loans particularly and then dictate that the lenders give their customers more reasonable terms than previously in an attempt to prevent this kind of debacle in the future.
As an additional stopgap measure, the lenders who repackage loans to investors as composites would have to retain some five percent of the credit risk. This is a figure that certain analysts (myself included, I believe way too low) think is a mere token gesture. I am not certain if this alone will solve the whole problem, yet it should at least help in a time when the credit crunch seems to really be hurting the world economy overall. Speaking of that, there really ought to be much more free or at least non-profit credit counseling plus forms of Debt consolidation, Debt help and related services. Yet credit counseling, in particular, I think. Broadly speaking, the new proposal made a few consumer advocates joyful but basically terrified the banking industry with its possible incorporation of a commisioned regulator to insulate consumers in their individual banking transactions. Sizeable insurers did not especially like the decision not to impose a wide-ranging national-level regulation on the insurance sector, thus leaving it to the various individual states in question (which is the way it is set up now).
As it stands now, mutual funds remain, for the time being at least, under the overall authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission rather than the said agency. All of these specific steps have been an effort to find a middle ground somewhere between the relative pros and cons of the capitalist system.
Of course, time will tell how well these efforts work out, but at present it appears to be a reasonably well-balanced approach.
