Warning issued about credit counseling Firms by Attorney General

July 4th, 2009

The Attorney General has issued a warning for consumers regarding various insidious debt relief management or debt help related scams, while likewise encouraging them to take full advantage of the free or non-profit credit counseling services in general. He also said that when an individual is in very heavy debt, they are often quite desperate for some kind of help and this is precisely the time when choosing a good and reputable credit management firm can be difficult, since the individual can be somewhat blinded by emotion.
The Attorney general also said that there is really no one right solution for most various debt problems, and that needing help means finding a legitimate credit counseling company that will help to strategize the right budget planning which is also cost effective. It sounds simple but is often not so easy to execute and carry out.
There are some ways to know which companies are scams according to the Attorney General, these are companies that offer credit repair for bad credit, and firms which ask for it’s payment prior to services being offered. The firms in question which fail to fully explain your rights in this arena or who basically warn against contacting the credit bureaus should probably be avoided if at all possible. It is further recommended that before picking a particular credit counseling firm, a few should be fully researched and since it might be a completely free credit counseling firm may not truly affordable. This ialso goes for the non profit credit counseling firms as well. Naturally, this is a part of the due diligence process overall. having said all of that, however, it should be duly noted that Credit counseling firms that are government approved can be found online at the U.S. Department of Justice’s U.S. Trustee Program.

Bicyclists Injured After Being Hit By A Taxicab

July 3rd, 2009

According to police a taxicab headed southbound on Broad Street at approximately 10:00 p.m. swerved to miss a vehicle that was changing lanes and jumped the curb. The cab struck a lamppost in front of the Kimmel Center and then the bicyclists. The taxi then struck a man crossing the street as it returned to the street from the curb. The bicyclists identified only as a female was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital and is reported to be in critical condition and suffered head injuries when the cab struck her. I had heard that she was part of a troubled teens boarding schools but later reports have reputed that so I should go on the record to say she is not part of a troubled teens boarding schools. The unidentified pedestrian laid where they were hit, until ambulances could arrive at the scene of the accident through the backed up traffic. There is no report on the condition of the person struck by the taxi cab. The passenger in the cab and the cab driver reportedly stayed in the taxicab and spoke to police through the windows of the vehicle. They were both transported to the Hanemann University Medical Center needing treatment for bumps, bruises and other injuries.

Data Shows that credit Counseling and Foreclosures On Uptick

July 2nd, 2009

The latest data and reports show that 1 in every 3 homes in the nation is either already bank owned or are at least heading for foreclosure. While some house buyers are urged by credit counseling firms to make the decision wisely, the houses which are heading for foreclosure are also those who, with good debt help and Debt Relief might be able to save their house, with any luck at all.
Having said that, though, it should be noted that the lending firm as well as the rental management firm is not really all that very different regarding how it looks at the financial statements and the balance sheet of an individual who is applying for a house loan or that is filling out a rental application. Which is why some individuals being foreclosed on by the lender will be forced into renting and have their credit history basically scrutinized at by the rental management company. Foreclosure of a property without the intervention of a credit counseling company can mean bad credit and that can limit the types of rental properties that will be available. All in all, non-profit or even free credit counseling firms are usually quite capable of working with the individual loan holder and with the loan firm so as to make an agreement to make up for past due payments in such a manner which will hopefully not strain the budget of the homeowner in question, therefore allowing them to remain in the said house.

New Federal Credit Agency forming

July 1st, 2009

From home loans to Wall Street’s overcomplicated wheeling and dealing, the federal administration has proposed to implemenet major new guidelines to overhaul the nation’s beleagured financial system under brand new legislation proposed yesterday to augment existing legislation, so says the Reuters online news network and other respected mainstream sources such as the Associated Press.
All in all, these specific steps could begin to modify the overall reduction of federal regulations which have been a trademark the past several decades or so. Despite all of this, however, the plan in question would do precious little to simplify and organize the mixed bag of various agencies which now oversee the financial arena. However, it calls for fundamental shifts in authority which would essentially wipe the slate clean and a whole new agency from the ground up, thereby reducing the authority of the ultra-powerful Federal Reserve. This new leaner and meaner agency would ultimately take over the job of overseeing home loans particularly and then dictate that the lenders give their customers more reasonable terms than previously in an attempt to prevent this kind of debacle in the future.
As an additional stopgap measure, the lenders who repackage loans to investors as composites would have to retain some five percent of the credit risk. This is a figure that certain analysts (myself included, I believe way too low) think is a mere token gesture. I am not certain if this alone will solve the whole problem, yet it should at least help in a time when the credit crunch seems to really be hurting the world economy overall. Speaking of that, there really ought to be much more free or at least non-profit credit counseling plus forms of Debt consolidation, Debt help and related services. Yet credit counseling, in particular, I think. Broadly speaking, the new proposal made a few consumer advocates joyful but basically terrified the banking industry with its possible incorporation of a commisioned regulator to insulate consumers in their individual banking transactions. Sizeable insurers did not especially like the decision not to impose a wide-ranging national-level regulation on the insurance sector, thus leaving it to the various individual states in question (which is the way it is set up now).
As it stands now, mutual funds remain, for the time being at least, under the overall authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission rather than the said agency. All of these specific steps have been an effort to find a middle ground somewhere between the relative pros and cons of the capitalist system.
Of course, time will tell how well these efforts work out, but at present it appears to be a reasonably well-balanced approach.

The Great City of Sacramento

June 30th, 2009

Sacramento is best known as the capitol of California and the home of the “Govonator” or action film mega star (and serial stripper gropper, if you believe the reports) Arnold (hey I never gropped no strippers) Schwarzenegger ( how do you spell that again?). But if you talk to MMA fans these days they are not talking about the guy who is know for saying “I’ll be back”. Instead they might be talking about the guy who says, “I want my belt back”. A real life gladiator that goes by the name of Urijah Faber. Faber was born and bread in Sacramento. He made a name for him self by fighting his way to the top (no pun intended). Urijah is all smiles and out of the ring and is a real down to earth guy that hasn’t let his ego get to his head. Sacramento’s real life home town hero held his belt as the featherweight champion of the world with the WEC. A not so popular man by the name of Mike Brown from Florida walked into the octagon in November of 2008 and knocked Faber out in the 1st round. Fans and press say it was the punch heard around the world and it meant Faber would give up his belt for the time being. Urijah recovered from the powerful blow Brown gave him in a matter of minutes and already had his mind set on getting his belt back and taking the championship back for himself and for his loyal fans around the world. Go to Sacramento Strippers if you are ever having a bachelors party.
On June 7th, 2009 Mike Brown will go into Urijah Faber’s back yard and defend his title for the featherweight championship fight of the world. 14,000 people will pack into the Arco Stadium in Sacramento, not to mention the millions watching the fight live on the VS channel to see if Mike Brown will continue to carry the title of CHAMP or if Faber will get his belt back.

Is Singer Rihanna A Bad Neighbor?

June 24th, 2009

According to various mainstream media reports, the singer Rihanna is apparently a terrible neighbor 9if you believe the accusations) who could be headed to court because of the accusation.
All in all, a lawsuit has been filed by Rihanna’s long suffering neighbor Christian Moeller, who says that the twenty-one year old celebrity is hardly an ideal neighbor. He claims that vehicles visiting the singer park on his property, including a vehicle which is hired by her which sometimes waits for many hours. All of this has caused him to file the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against her as well as the owner of the home she rents. It sounds like living next to her is a real life nightmare, yikes!
The southern California home is rented by Rihanna and owned by one Stephen Yacobian, who recently remodeled it, which also eliminated any type of parking. This caused luxury vehicles to park on Moeller’s property for what he claims is hours at a time, this essentially turning his yard into Rihanna’s personal parking space, with vehicles using his driveway as a turn around spot.
In addition, his suit claims this is an invasion of his privacy and that he has a security camera installed to prove the trespass and invasion of privacy, among other claims. The singer is known for her flashy lifestyle and her artisan jewelry including cufflinks and sometimes leather jewelry.
For his part, Yacobian has publically said that his case is without merit, but did not elaborate until he speaks with his lawyer. There have been no comments from Rihanna’s representatives about the suit filed by Moeller.

Lindsay Lohan may be under Suspicion for Missing Jewelry

June 23rd, 2009

Get ready for some rather weird celebrity related news: According to various mainstream reports Lindsay Lohan is evidently wanted for questioning by the investigative unit Scotland Yard (which is somewhat similiar to our FBI, I suppose) of jolly old England following the mysterious disappearance of around a half million bucks in jewelry. The Investigators in question are trying to find her (to question her, not detain her, there is no warrent) after the jewelry was used in a photography session shoot for Elle Magazine with the actress. Following that particular session, the jeweler there apparently determined that the jewelry was missing. It should be noted that even if she is arrested for the crime, she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. All in all, the representatives for the magazine have stated they have no knowledge where the missing jewelry might be. It is also reported that Lohan’s representatives have not responded to the jeweler or to the magazine editors. At this specific time, it is not entirely clear if the missing items were leather, wood, copper or artisan jewelry. That being said, it could have even been cufflinks or some sort of contemporary jewelry we are talking about here.
In any event, it was almost certainly designer jewelry, I would be willing to bet, with that kind of cost.
As it stands now, it should be noted that the british agency has made pretty clear that the actress is only wanted for questioning, and that there are a number of various persons of interest who are on their radar screen. Scotland Yard generally has a well-earned reputation for being efficient and not jumping to wild conclusions. All in all, this is really not the only situation in which her name has been somehow connectedwith missing merchandise. For instance, the mega-star designer Louis Vitton ( anyone who has ever walked into a Nordstrum’s or Macy’s department store knows who this is) will not work with her anymore, following a specific incident in which samples of clothing were used for a photo sessions turned up lost or missing. Lohan according to a stylist’s assistant placed them in her handbag a number of times. I am not certain and she is presumed innocent for now but I wonder if we may have another Winona Ryder situation on our hands here. I believe that it is known as Kleptomania.

Off Duty Cop Pleads Not Guilty

June 20th, 2009

Chicago Police detective Joseph Frugoli pleaded not guilty in court after being charged with reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence.
The plea was entered in connection with the crash he was involved in crashing his sport utility vehicle into a car that was parked along side the expressway. The crash killed two people identified as Andrew Cazares age 23 and Fausto Manzera age 21, that were both residents of Chicago. Incidentially if you need a professional Chicago dui lawyer then I suggest Mathew Miller. He is simply one of the very best Chicago dui lawyer around.
According to prosecutors the Chicago police officer that has been relieved of his duties say Frugoli’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of the crash. They also state that the officer tried to flee the scene of the crash after a person passing by the crash helped him from the vehicle and he was apprehended a short time later. Frugoli who has pleaded not guilty is free on $500,000 bail and has been relieved of his duties.

He has been charged with driving under the influence, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, and another misdemeanor, which is failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Lorusso was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer in the cities east side 3100 block of Royal Fox Drive when he lost control of the SUV striking two trees according to authorities.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:22 a.m., striking two trees trapping the driver and passengers in the vehicle. The St. Charles Police Department and the fire department responded to the scene of the one vehicle crash. By the way if you live in the area and need a good Chicago dui lawyer may I suggest Mathew Miller. He is one of the best Chicago dui lawyer around.
According to authorities Lorusso who was driving, and three other passengers had to be extracted from the vehicle, using extraction tools.

Man stabs woman over some jewelry

June 14th, 2009

An 18-year-old man has been indicted for a suspected triple stabbing in an appalling, abusive crime on a woman and some men over some mere jewelry; the man has been identified as Mitchell Ridout of Allenstown.
According to the Merrimack County Attorney Katherine Rogers, Rideout got into an argument over a piece jewelry with Lacy Lane while at a party, stabbing her in the chest and side. When attempting to leave, two men he also stabbed tried to stop Rideout, Marc Temple was stabbed in the neck and back and Randall Hamilton Jr. was stabbed in the chest and abdomen.
Lane according to Rogers has over 900 pages of medical reports and had to have a kidney removed due to the stabbing by Rideout. It seems that there has been a lot of violent crime in Pennsylvania as of late. As an aside if you require a solid
Philadelphia personal injury lawyer then may I suggest the law offices of Mark Rosenberg as he is one of the best Philadelphia personal injury lawyer around.
The Merrimack County Grand Jury indicted Rideout on four counts of first degree assault and according to Rogers, he has made phone calls from the county jail was recorded with Rideout telling someone about the stabbing and laughing. He also told a witness whose identity has not been released that he had stabbed a woman over the jewelry according to police.
There has not been a court date set for Rideout on the two counts of first degree assault against Lane and one count of first degree assault for both Hamilton and Temple. Attacking someone over some bling bling jewelry is simply not acceptable in this society, in my personal opinion.
